Trouble getting started? Here's a brief overview of the 3 basic types of wood flooring construction to help you decide which one is just right for you.


	The feel of Natural/real wood. Ahhh...
	Susceptible to moisture damage; not recommended for bathroom installations. (Engineered hardwood floors have multi-layer cross-grained construction which means less expansion or contraction and floors are less affected by changes in humidity.)
	Adds value to your home.
	May scratch or dent from household mishaps.
	Hardwood floors do fade over time. If you have an area rug in a room bathed in sunlight, you might be surprised to find that the floor under the rug is a darker color.
	Coordinates with any décor.
	Hardwood floors are refinishable and can be restored close to their original splendor. Engineered hardwood floors can also be refinished; they may be prefessionally sanded up to two times.
	Professional installation is definitely recommended.
	Cost of product & installation.
	Depending on your point of view, having a floor that is permanent can be a plus or a minus. Most often the permanency of wood is seen as a bonus because if you want to change the look of the room you can use area rugs, or even cover with carpeting, and the floor remains undamaged.
