Press Release
CarpetsPlus Trades Carpet for Girl Scout Cookies

Wisconsin Rapids WI (April 20 2005) - The carpeting in Charbonneau Lodge of Camp Sacajawea, the camp used by the Girl Scouts of Woodland Council, was in fairly bad shape. Over the years, bubbles became a safety hazard and repairs made using duct tape were aesthetically unpleasing. When the Girl Scouts found out recently that they needed to replace the carpeting in order to maintain their license with the State of Wisconsin, the scouts sought out appropriate help.

That's where CarpetsPlus of Wisconsin comes into the story. Michael Peters, president and owner of CarpetsPlus of Wisconsin, agreed to help out with the donation of new carpeting to help a worthy cause.

However, because installing carpeting includes outside costs, Peters could only donate what was his to give. The solution? The Girl Scouts provided $300 worth of Girl Scout Cookies to use in trade.

The total value of the donation: about $4000. Not a bad deal for the Girl Scouts, and that makes Peters a smart cookie.
