Like most flooring, damage can occur when heavy objects are dropped. Could chip if heavy object are dropped on it.
Repairs - replace individual tiles, not whole floor sections.
Unglazed Porcelain tile is so water resistant in can be used outside.
Rolling chairs hook up on grout lines.
Easy to clean and maintain. Glazed tile never needs waxing or sealing.
Cold hard surface is not everyone's preference. (But tile also absorbs heat so depends on the room and sunlight).
Environmentally friendly Durable and permanent.
Depending on your point of view, having a floor that is permanent can be a plus or a minus. Ceramic flooring is enduring; it is a permanent flooring choice which is why it is so popular. If you enjoy changing the look of your home every decade or so, you might consider a ceramic looking laminate or vinyl because ceramic tile is very difficult to remove
Any excessive movement in the subflooring will loosen tiles and/or pop out grout. Some subfloors are not suitable for ceramic tile installation because they tend to flex, expand/contract, or warp. All floor and wall substrates must be structurally sound, rigid, flat, oil- and wax-free for success and longevity of ceramic flooring
